OUR MISSION

To provide education, intervention and survivor services

ABOUT US

Haynes Healing of Hearts is a Houston –based non-profit organization committed to the restoration of lives impacted by domestic violence.  Our mission is to provide education, intervention and survivor services. Andrea Lesure Haynes was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi. After dropping out of college she began a career with the US Postal Service, married, and began raising a family. By 2003 she found herself entrenched in an escalating cycle of domestic abuse, and it wasn’t long before the cycle reached a violent climax. In the midst of her effort to escape the abuse, her husband shot her, leaving her for dead, and then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life. As an overflow from her own healing, she was drawn to empowering women caught in the destructive patterns and circumstances where she once was. Over the course of the next few years her vision evolved into the restoration of hope and vitality for all lives impacted by domestic violence, both victims and perpetrators. In 2009 she and her husband, Edwin Haynes, founded Haynes Healing of Hearts, a Houston based non-profit organization committed to restoring lives touched by domestic violence.
